Well, you could call us House of Campaigns, seeing as that’s what we do. It could also mean House of Canines [we have several]. On most days, it’s probably House of Caffeine. However, what makes the most sense to us is House of Current, because we’re setting trends, breaking ground, and adding a surge of creativity to everything we do. We don’t follow the stream. We set the current in motion. We’re charged with an energy that’s as electric as our partnerships and our work. While Lady Gaga may call us Haus of Current, we think House of Current has some serious power to it.
Oh hey, we’re House of Current! And we bring to life industry-shaping, award-winning advertising, branding, social media & all things creative with a little inspiration, a lot of dedication, and an unrelenting passion for all things beautiful.
Oh hey, we’re House of Current! And we bring to life industry-shaping, award-winning advertising, branding, social media & all things creative with little inspiration, a lot of dedication, and an unrelenting passion for all things beautiful.
Wendy Lowden
Co-founder. Creative Director.
WHAT HER AURA SAYS ABOUT HER:
We already knew Wendy was a visionary, but her violet aura confirms it. Because violet auras have a strong intuition and inner knowledge, they’re excellent at seeing the big picture —so when Wendy claims she can see the future of what she will create even before she does it, believe her. Violet auras also have a strong amount of originality and innovative ideas which explains why HoC puts out such great creative work with Wendy directing the show.
WHAT SHE DOES:
Though her very-well-designed business card says Creative Director, Wendy is still a designer and art director by passion and trade. She’s the driving creative force behind the work we do and the idea machine that makes clients stop and say, “Every time Wendy speaks, I think, ‘I love that and I would’ve never thought of it!’” (True story, we’ve seen it happen.)
WHAT SHE’S DONE:
Wendy is a product of Philadelphia’s Moore College of Art and Design, where she received a BFA in Fashion Illustration and Fashion Advertising Design. After graduation she took her eye for excellence to Retail Publications (now Panzano and Partners) and then to W.T. Quinn in 1991. She moved to Atlanta in 1992 and that’s when we could say “See Lisa’s bio” and the rest would be pretty much verbatim. In their time as both Current, Inc. and House of Current, Wendy has led the day-to-day creative as well as the long-term brand strategy for more retail, real estate, and hospitality clients than we have time for (again, See Lisa). This variety of experience has evolved into an expertise for writing the visual stories and developing unique identities for properties of all sizes, locations, and tiers. She has held the role of President of the Atlanta Creative Club – and still remains a major player in the local creative landscape.
THE FUN STUFF:
With designer boots on her feet and an overstuffed suitcase by her side, Wendy’s always ready to jet off to an incredible destination at a moment’s notice. When she’s not out exploring the world, she’s exploring the best places to eat and staying up to date on the coolest happenings around the city. If you want to know where to go, you know who to ask. She’s a color expert, a Peloton fanatic, and she’d make an award-winning interior designer — just check out her home office!
Lisa Maloof
Co-founder. Client Services.
WHAT HER AURA SAYS ABOUT HER:
Yes, it’s true; Lisa really IS the best of both worlds. Magenta auras are a combination of the red and blue, meaning Lisa’s got a firm hand on the physical world around her (red) with a heightened capacity for intuitive, intellectual, and creative thinking (blue). Ideally suited for creative agency life, those with magenta auras are high energy and fun loving, while being driven and independent. With a bit of orange in the right corner, you can tell Lisa prioritizes teamwork and collaboration, and needless to say, effortlessly makes friends wherever she goes.
WHAT SHE DOES:
A go-getter with a heart of gold, Lisa oversees the big picture and makes sure to exceed client expectations at every turn of her swivel chair. Her genuine care for clients and enthusiasm for helping them reach their goals are evident in every weekly call, strategy discussion, and bit of work HoC creates.
WHAT SHE’S DONE:
Lisa started working for a small agency in 1989 as Account Coordinator on a shopping center account. She was promoted 3 times in 3 years, ultimately leaving as the head Account Manager of their shopping center practice. From there she lent her account management skills to W.T. Quinn, where she worked on accounts such as JMB Retail Properties (now Urban) and Compass Retail (now JLL), eventually being named VP of Account Services. She founded Current, Inc. in 1995 with Wendy Lowden, serving as President from 1996-2009. Together they worked with GGP, The Rouse Company, JLL, The Glimcher Company, The Irvine Company…a complete list would take all day. In 2011, they re-launched as House of Current, and in 2021, they’d love to work with you
THE FUN STUFF:
Whether she’s teaching her tenacious terrier Trixie circus-style tricks, keeping up with her ever-growing reading list, or challenging friends and family to race on Peloton, Lisa is the heart and soul of making it happen. A connoisseur of everything from fine wine to good design, her excellent taste extends to TV shows and spirit animals (hers are dolphins and Stevie Nicks, of course).
Lamar Barton
Account Manager.
WHAT HER AURA SAYS ABOUT HER:
Lamar is a red aura through and through: as cheerful as she is full of hustle, she’s a natural leader who knows how to take charge in the best way. Red auras are actionable energy, and Lamar is full of action and all about moving projects along and coordinating all the details. Those with red auras can be more analytical (remember those spreadsheets we mentioned?), and have a good head for business; while the rest of us want to hide when it comes to invoicing, Lamar’s already handled it and moved on to the next item on her always-updated and overly-organized to-do list.
WHAT SHE DOES:
Lamar is the devil that’s in the details (but the nicest detail devil you’ll ever meet). She’s clients’ day-to-day contact — trafficking, scheduling, billing, budgeting, and monitoring all jobs that come down the pipeline — and our day-to-day circus wrangler; she’s the one keeping everyone on their toes, on time, and on the ball.
WHAT SHE’S DONE:
Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing (minor in Advertising), a Master’s in Organizational Leadership, Lamar’s got Wall-Street-worthy negotiating skills and keeps projects running as smoothly as the Savannah, Georgia waters on which she was raised. With over 7 years thriving in marketing/advertising roles, and 14 years in customer service, her résumé features names like Sotheby’s, Washington Post (Kaplan) and Educational Management Corporation (EDMC). She probably wishes this whole website were one big spreadsheet —and that difference in opinion is why we love her. Lamar joined House of Current in 2015 and the world hasn’t been the same since.
Stefani Demoff
Account Manager.
WHAT HER AURA SAYS ABOUT HER:
What you see is what you get with Stefani: the orange on both the left and right side of her represents a consistency in the energy she’s put out and energy she’s taking in. Orange auras are collaborative and creative, great with people and highly perceptive, they make a great teammate and, we’d say, a great account manager! The red around her and above her head represents new beginnings — which makes sense since the photo was taken right after starting with us at HoC.
WHAT SHE DOES:
With her Enneagram 9 “The Peacemaker” personality and her sunny, laid-back California style, Stefani shines her brightest translating communications across different temperaments and backgrounds. Whether mediating between clients and creative, or mediating the chaos that is our calendars, she’s quick to find the best solution to any situation.
WHAT SHE’S DONE:
After finishing a business degree and adding a fashion degree at FIDM, Stefani started her career in marketing working on worldwide campaigns for Forever 21. She fell in love with agency life managing social media for UGG and the shopping-center world working on large-scale redevelopments for Westfield —like Oculus at the World Trade Center and Century City in LA — before marrying the two with her role here at HoC. From planning how to aesthetically cover up construction to cleaning up after John Legend at a grand opening event, her favorite moments are those spent creating campaigns, talking to a thousand different people, and seeing a vision come to life.
THE FUN STUFF:
In her freetime, Stefani paints minimalist beach prints (she’s never met a tone of blue she didn’t like), lives up to her title of reality tv junky (strictly Bravo-related and true crime), and pursues her goal of testing as many Mexican restaurants as possible (margaritas included).
Scott Brannon
Art Director. Production.
WHAT HIS AURA SAYS ABOUT HIM:
Scott’s got a bunch of unique aura colors he brings to the HoC table. The bits of green and indigo on his left side show his balanced and calming nature along with a deep sense of empathy and wisdom. The bright turquoise at the top marks him as an influencing personality (like we said, when Scott speaks, you listen!) good communication skills, while the bright violet on the right speaks of his strong intuition he uses to help guide our ideas in the most compassionate way, of course.
WHAT HE DOES:
When Scott speaks, you listen. A dream sculpture at heart, he’s the first person to tell us when an idea won’t work, and the first to offer up a solution that’s probably better than the original. Not just an art director, photographer, and connoisseur of all things of style; he runs production, plays IT guy when our Macs won’t work, and figures out precisely how some of the more wacky ideas can be implemented.
WHAT HE’S DONE:
Scott graduated from Atlanta’s Portfolio Center in 2001 and over the years evolved into a unique Production Manager/Graphic Designer/Art Director hybrid. He joined Current, Inc. in 2003 and after a brief stint seeking his fortune elsewhere (but realizing he couldn’t stay away), he rejoined us in our journey to becoming House of Current. In addition to the countless retail and real estate clients in the House of Current portfolio, he has also worked on objectively impressive accounts like Walmart, Holland America, and the rebranding of the Seattle SuperSonics.
THE FUN STUFF:
Scott has spent his free time restoring vintage cars since he was a wee tyke helping his father and is currently tackling a 1955 Land Rover station wagon. When he’s not in the garage, you can find him outdoors biking, hiking, and camping; following Formula 1 racing religiously; being a fair-weather English Premier League “fan” (Go Foxes!); curling up with a good book, or making art that’s not for work.
Kate Beck
Copywriter.
WHAT HER AURA SAYS ABOUT HER:
With aura colors ranging from red to magenta to orange, Kate brings an upbeat, passionate, and high-energy personality to the HoC team. Her red and magenta aura says she’s independent, down-to-earth, and determined; she’s always ready for a good creative challenge, especially if it happens to be finding the fun in any situation. Orange represents a zest for life and its placement on the right shows she’s actively inviting creative, empathetic, and team-building energy into her life.
WHAT SHE DOES:
As our resident word witch and Oxford comma enthusiast, Kate spins even the densest concepts into clever headlines and compelling copy. Her eye for strategy and passion for storytelling combine to create the magic that turns heads, builds brands, and makes our clients stand out.
WHAT SHE’S DONE:
Born and raised on the west coast (best coast), Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in English & Spanish and a mostly-unused highschool teaching certification in Washington State. She turned her talent for getting teens stoked on Shakespeare into crafting copy that captures the hearts of B2B and B2C audiences with ease —and never looked back. As strategic as she is creative, Kate brings 8+ years of experience creating not just copy but digital and social strategies for Fortune 500 & 5000 companies, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations alike.
THE FUN STUFF:
When she’s not rewatching the Office on repeat, she’s exploring new restaurants around the city, frequenting art museums (especially on jazz nights!), getting lost in dog Tik Tok, hosting dinner parties, reading all the books, being competitive at card games, and maintaining the correct pronunciation of “gif” sounds like the peanut butter (despite hard evidence to the contrary).
Nathalie Amat
Account Coordinator.
WHAT HER AURA SAYS ABOUT HER:
If you couldn’t tell Nathalie’s upbeat personality from her giant smile, you can read it right there in her orange and cherry red aura. Those with red auras are rooted and engaged in the physical world; they have a firm grasp on what’s going on around them and love making things happen —hellooo, account coordinator! The orange cloud around Nathalie’s head shows the headspace she spends the most time in: thinking creatively, collaborating, communicating, and being an overall great teammate to work with.
WHAT SHE DOES:
The queen of both memes and multitasking, Nathalie navigates client relations as adeptly as she designs dang-good digital strategies, making sense of everything from our to-do list to clients’ social media metrics. She’s our modern Renaissance woman doing it all so our clients can have it all.
WHAT SHE’S DONE:
A Miami native, this Cubanita traded in her sandals for sneakers to make Atlanta her new home, cafetera in tow. Nathalie’s years in the tourism and hospitality industry make her uniquely tuned to understanding and anticipating client needs, while her background and Master’s of Science degree in Marketing gives her a keen eye for what consumers want and how to work with the creative team to create it. She came to HoC after using her superior organizational skills to plan events for the Zoo Miami where she could pet cheetahs whenever she wanted (which is honestly hard to compete with, but we do our best).
THE FUN STUFF:
With an appetite for adventure and a “work hard, play hard” mindset, don’t be surprised if you see her traveling across the country or running another half marathon (10 so far and counting!). She also enjoys hiking nearby (or not-so-nearby) trails, painting with acrylics, and speaking her native Spanish to her bilingual gatitos.
Jenny Park
Art Director.
WHAT HER AURA SAYS ABOUT HER:
Jenny’s aura looks like little sunbeams of yellow and orange shooting off in every direction—which is an excellent representation of the the transition mode she’s going through in all areas of her life, with abundant creativity and optimism radiating straight from her core. The green represents growth and a renewed healing energy she’s bringing into her life, and the grace and reflection she needs to move forward into this new chapter.
WHAT SHE DOES:
An illustrator at heart, Jenny’s artistic eye and talented hands turn good design into great design, and clients’ hopes and dreams into reality. Always creating with the big picture in mind, she infuses meaning into each part of the process to produce design that tells a story, makes an impact, and speaks directly to its audience.
WHAT SHE’S DONE:
South Korea born and raised, Jenny moved to the States just in time to start high school—and learn English—all at once. Luckily, she’s the kind of person you throw in the deep end one minute, and she’s taking on Michael Phelps the next. After following her heart to a major in Drawing & Painting at Kennesaw State University, her head convinced her to make a living and finish with a BFA in Graphic Communications (which she calls “the best decision baby Jenny could have made”). In her 14+ years of experience holding designer & art director positions in different corporate settings, she’s worked for names like Ascend Performance Materials, GE Capital, InComm, and Carter’s. Switching to the agency side has opened up a new world of possibilities and creativity that she can’t get enough of.
THE FUN STUFF:
Jenny’s happiest when her hands are busy so you’ll often find her in the kitchen cooking—for humans AND canines—making cocktails, painting, lettering, wrapping gifts, sending postcards, taking care of her jungle-level amount of indoor plants, and drawing out her next tattoo featuring her two pups. You can also find her taking said pups hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding and camping whenever she gets the chance.
