We had a blast working on a fantastic pro bono project for The Atlanta Resource Foundation. The ARF is a kind of networking organization for charities, donors and volunteers. Instead of raising funds, ARF focuses on building lasting relationships.
An earlier post included several behind the scenes glimpses of the photo shoot, which you can see again here. But this post is all about the final product – a 12 month planning calendar highlighting various organizations supported by ARF.
“I was concerned that highlighting 14 different Atlanta charities could quickly put people to sleep,” states ARF Director, Allen Bell. “HOC’s ideas, creative direction, styling and delicious copy built a vehicle that drove way past my best expectations.”
The strategy of designing a calendar was that as long as it’s on someone’s desk, ARF will be on their minds. This calendar was distributed to a very distinguished list of executives, politicians and other big wigs across Georgia and beyond. Allen even got a nice note from Georgia Governor, Nathan Deal saying how much he liked it.
“The feedback and personal letters from friends, acquaintances and city leaders tell us people have read the project from cover to cover,” adds Mr. Bell. “This project has concretely reinforced our work to encourage these servants of the city.”
In addition to the HOC crew, contributors included Scott Lowden Photography and artist Kyle Brooks with printing by Offset Atlanta.
This calendar was extremely gratifying on many levels – we’re thrilled with the way it turned out, we were honored to help such an amazing collection of organizations, we loved working with such a great team and it was true pleasure to meet so many inspiring people.
It’s going to be super tough to top it for next year, but we hope we get the chance to try.
